Summary

Bather is looking for a Social Media Intern to support the Marketing Manager and the owner in projects that aim to share the brand’s story online with a focus on community engagement and relations. The Social Media Intern will help the team at Bather create and schedule Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Journal posts that capture and engage viewers. The Intern will have the opportunity to learn how to use insights and data to inform content creation decisions and also how to report back on social media campaigns in order to help them learn how to make future campaigns even more successful. Other tasks will include market research, influencer relations, attending and reporting on events, blog writing, putting together press and media packages, and more. The Intern will also have the opportunity to explore other areas that are of interest to them, like product development, trend forecasting, and more.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about social media, marketing and PR, and fashion, ideally with an interest in menswear. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, a self-starter, entrepreneurial, outgoing, and curious and willing to learn.

The candidate must also be looking to fulfill internship hours as a requirement for their post-secondary program. 

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Interest in/commitment to the fashion industry
  • High proficiency and interest in social media. Familiarity with Facebook Insights, Facebook Business Manager, Instagram Insights or another social media reporting platform is an asset
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Able to work independently and take initiative while also being an effective team player
  • Proven attention to detail
  • An optimistic attitude
  • A marketing and communications, social media, and/or digital media background; either through work, school, or both 
  • Must be pursuing an education in marketing, communications, fashion, or business

Responsibilities

  • Participating in various events and product launches
  • Updating press and media lists
  • Provide support for experiential, digital and social media marketing
  • Create content for the website and social media channels
  • Assist with the development of editorial and production calendars
  • Use social media platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram
  • Assist with preparing reports using Facebook Insights, Instagram Insights, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Proofread marketing assets to ensure their accuracy and alignment to brief
  • Press monitoring, clippings, and reports
  • Develop an outreach strategy to connect with local and international influencers, writers, and publishers

Learning Experiences Provided

  • Onboarding of new interns will include an introduction to the brand and how to write for our social media posts across all platforms
  • Learn how to write effective and on-brand copy for eCommerce, social media posts, digital ads, and other marketing materials
  • Learn how to write a press release
  • We will teach you how to pitch and write on-brand stories
  • Learn how to write copy and select creative assets that resonate with social media audiences
  • How to create digital user personas using tools like Facebook Business Manager and Audience Insights to inform the creation of target demographics
  • How to effectively set up, execute, measure and report on digital marketing campaigns and choose and analyze KPIs
  • Media, press, and influencer outreach and negotiation
  • Observe and contribute to team meetings
